The design process is the most important one.
Designing landscapes for any site is not an easy thing to discuss theoretically, for each site brings its own special restrictions and problems and each client has a different set of tastes, ideas and requirements.
Nevertheless, certain fundamental principles of good landscape design apply equally to all problems, large or small, and if these are well considered, the basic ground plan of the landscape will be sound.
A design also gives the client and contractor a clear picture of what is to be constructed and implemented. You need a design to quote on.
The design process typically involves the following steps:
- Initial inquiry by client
- Site visit to meet and talk about choosing a landscape designer
- Designer is decided upon
- A quotation for design is accepted
- The Brief. Client and designer explore ideas, potential and budget for landscaping the property. This is an important part of the process.
- First draft is presented to client
- There my be further drafts
- Final landscape concept plan is approved by client
- Construction commences
